The Department of Civil Engineering has held a Workshop on Bridge Model Competition and Laboratory Tour on 18 November 2023, as part of the events of the College’s Information Day 2023. Prof. Louis Lam, Dr. Celine Lee, Dr. Helen Lu, Mr. Justin Chiu, Ms. Kimberly Lam, Mr. Alfred Poon and Mr. Tsz Ming Fong have attended the workshop. Visitors have actively participated in the Bridge Model Competition, in which they have experienced the process in bridge construction through the fabrication of the bridge models and have a glance to the principles behind the construction of bridges. Laboratory tours were also conducted to introduce to our visitors the various equipment inside the Civil Engineering’s laboratories which enable our students to conduct experiments to enhance their learning. Currently, the Civil Department has five laboratories, including structural and material laboratory, geotechnical laboratory, hydraulic laboratory, environmental laboratory and IoT laboratory to support the various experimental sessions under the Civil Engineering Programmes.
