| The accreditation exercises for the Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Civil Engineering and the Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Construction Engineering and Management have been successfully conducted by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ). The Department of Civil Engineering provides comprehensive programmes that incorporate professional knowledge and skills as well as practical training for students to pursue a career in various fields of the civil engineering discipline. The programmes cover a wide variety of subjects including structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering, hydraulics and water treatment, civil and building construction, project and construction management, construction contract and law, transportation, fire engineering, engineering materials and IT application in construction. Students will be able to become the next generation of civil engineers participating in the design and construction of infrastructures such as bridges, highways, slope and site foundation and tall buildings.
More than 65 Years of Experience in Offering Civil Engineering Programme The four-year degree programme in Civil Engineering is one of the first programmes in the Faculty of Science and Engineering. The Programme has been offered for over 65 years. Our experience in offering civil engineering programme underscores our College’s commitment in providing quality education for secondary school leavers to fulfill the needs in the field of civil engineering. The continuous economic development in Hong Kong and the Greater China region needs professionals with in-depth knowledge in civil engineering to contribute in infrastructure construction. The employability and career development of our graduates are promising. Over the past 65 years, more than 1,500 students graduated from the Department reflecting the fruit of our success.
