Ir Prof. Y.L. Wong of our Department was invited to participate in workshops on new materials and technology for construction, repair and maintenance of underground and hydraulic concrete structures held by School of Civil Engineering of Southwest Jiaotong University, PowerChina, and EBS Technology in Chengdu, China from 27 January 2018 to 28 January 2018. During the workshop, Ir Prof. Wong addressed the applications of rapid hardening repair mortars in tunnels. Other issues on sealing water seeping of concrete tunnels, fire resistant concrete precast panels and concrete research projects were also discussed. A tour of the state laboratories of Southwest Jiaotong University were conducted after the meetings.
